14 October 2017, Kuala Lumpur – Knight Frank Malaysia, the independent property consultancy held its ‘Day of Giving’ with the theme ‘Hop on with Victory, Hop off with memory’ as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative this year.
Knight Frank staff along with their families from the Kuala Lumpur offices joins the caretakers of Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home together with 30 children comprising of boys aged between 4 to 17 years old. At Aquaria KLCC, children had the opportunity to explore sea creatures’ habitats and learn about the behaviour of marine life animals all in one place.
After which, all children and caretakers departed Aquaria KLCC via bus ride that took them to Sungei Wang, their next destination. The bus ride within Kuala Lumpur city centre was organised and sponsored by KL Hop-On Hop-Off city tour making landmark stops in the city among them – KL Tower, Chinatown and Muzium Negara arriving at Sungei Wang Plaza’s station.
All the children and caretakers were treated to lunch at Nando’s located at Sungei Wang Plaza. All the children were presented with daily necessities and gifts such as school shoes, socks and goodies sponsored by Knight Frank and Sungei Wang Plaza. A mock cheque valued at RM15,000 sponsored by the company together with donations poured in from generous client and staffs totalled to RM6,850 were consecutively presented to Rumah Victory home. The event was supported by staff from Knight Frank and the management of Sungei Wang Plaza that made the event an even merrier one.
Sarkunan Subramanian, Managing Director, Knight Frank Malaysia says, “Spending just half a day with the kids from the home made me think how privileged we and our kids are. These kids are from broken and poor homes but they are rich in love and joined in spirit. Victory home, there is no victory without a battle.”
Charity, Volunteering and Community forms part of Knight Frank’s Building Foundations framework and the Day of Giving is an opportunity for Knight Frank to be giving something back to the community.
